I'm Abby, the Founder of Earthnutz.

My story began the day my son had an allergic reaction to peanuts* and we were told to stay away from all nuts, forever. While I understood the logic (of course), it didn’t stop me from having recurring dreams of peanut butter lathered onto a fresh slice of sour dough! Eventually I found a treatment programme that would help him to eat nuts again, but it would also require him to eat them on a daily basis – that’s right, a portion of peanuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios…..you get the picture. This is when the cogs started to turn because I needed a way to get a lot of nuts into our daily diet in a fun, convenient and healthy way.

So with a whole lot of curiosity and creativity I created Earthnutz. With the shape of a peanut, the crunch of a crisp and more protein than a sirloin steak, I think you’ll agree that they’re pretty special.

***Earthnutz are NOT meant for allergy sufferers because they contain a large amount of peanuts.***

Is it best to eat protein before or after a workout?

Eating protein before or after your workout has benefits. The best timing for you depends on your fitness goals:

Pre-Workout Protein

  • Eating protein 1–4 hours before exercise can help fuel your workout and reduce muscle breakdown.
  • It provides amino acids that your muscles can use during training.
  • Ideal if you're doing resistance training or endurance workouts.

Post-Workout Protein

  • The "anabolic window" (30–60 minutes after exercise) is when your muscles are most receptive to protein.
  • Helps repair muscle tissue and replenish glycogen stores.
  • Essential for muscle recovery and growth.

Which Is Best?

It really depends what your fitness goals are. If muscle building is your priority, then having protein post-workout is preferable. If you're looking to prevent muscle loss or increase your endurance, eating protein pre-workout can help.

Is peanut protein as effective as animal-based protein?

Absolutely! Earthnutz use peanut protein, which is rich in essential amino acids, making it a great alternative to animal-based protein.

Whether you choose plant-based or animal protein, it's worth considering what else you're eating. Our blog discusses how to consider the whole 'protein package' to determine which food is a healthier choice than the next.

What does 'Virgin' oil mean?

An oil is considered virgin when it is extracted purely through mechanical means, without the use of chemical solvents or extensive refining.

This process helps preserve the oil’s natural flavor, aroma, and nutritional properties.

How do you make your Virgin Peanut Oil?

Our Virgin Peanut Oil is simply pressed from the peanuts - think of it like juicing an orange!

It's done in the traditional way so that the nutritional properties of the oil are kept in tact, as nature intended.

The oil is then filtered to get rid of any impurities before it's bottled and sent out to you.
